—to be seen yet remain hidden.

If I had two lives,
I’d marry you in just one.
And the other?

Perhaps I’d get lost in a journey of never-ending self-discovery.
Travel the world.
Do everything I wrote on my bucket list
when I was twelve years old.

Make random videos to capture every place I go.
Enroll in an art workshop.
Create artworks.
Collect dried flowers and stationery.
Buy books—lots of them.

Write a handful of random poems,
as whimsical as describing how the sun’s aftermath,
kissing the sea at sundown, infatuates me—
how I’m mesmerized by the way it sparkles
when they meet.

I’d be mad rich.
Definitely no kids—just nieces and nephews to spoil.
Visit an orphanage once a month
as a way of sharing my blessings
and healing my inner child.

Donate blood every six months.
Make a list of coffee shops to visit and linger in.
Go to art museums alone,
and ask strangers to capture photos of me.

Nothing but a solid, uncomplicated life—
one where I am embracing,
and falling in love with,
the scent of solitude,
my solace.
