It may not look at it seems, but our childhood experiences have a vital role in our lives.

I went to a gathering with my friends last week, We talked about life, our experiences and such. Well, we always do that once a week. But that day wasn’t like any previous weeks. In the middle of our discussion, all of a sudden, we heard a loud voice of a raging man—cursing and shouting unbearable words at the top of his lungs towards his wife—which I know eventually he would regret saying. Everyone in the compound can hear him. He’s a drunkard. We heard the breaking of liquor bottles, lots of them. The situation got worse when I found out that their children are there, crying at their full capacity, begging their parents to stop fighting. My heart stung, my throat hurt as if it wanted to explode, and the pain flows down to every vertebra that I have in my body. As a psychology major student, it breaks my heart to hear the loud mourn of these children as they watch their parents throwing their anger at each other without thinking that it would cause traumas to their innocence. The traumatic experience that could subconsciously influence their lives as they grow up, the traumatic experience that needs to come into the surface in the course of time so that their inner child will give a chance to heal.
It may not look at it seems, but our childhood experiences have a vital role in our lives.
In this encounter, I realized a lot of things in life…
I’ve realized that choosing a life partner should be taken seriously. That they are not just a partner but they will also be a husband or wife, a father or a mother to our future offspring/s. Children cannot choose their parents, but people have the power to what kind of father or mother their future children will have.
And to those of you young people who are reading this, focus on your growth—in all aspects. One of the things that I learned last year is that, those people who you are surrounding yourself with have the power to influence you—whether in a good or bad way. That is why we must be wise in choosing our environment. Surround yourself with people who want you to succeed in life, who have the same goal as you, who are striving for a better life too. Explore the world. Learn new skills Earn money. Be rich in good memories. Read books. Travel the world. Maximize your singleness. Create a good company. Discover your strengths and weaknesses—and learn to embrace them all. Be obsessed with adding value to yourself. And love will come, not when you need it but when you are ready.
