The birds were out of their cages—free but a little lost, happy but a little scared.
The idea of freedom that you’ve created in your head might be a little different from reality. Flaming excitement yet a little confused. Asking yourself if this is all just fine. You’ve never expected that these are what you’ll initially get after obtaining the freedom you’ve been waiting for all these years. I know, but keep going.
You are doing just fine. For someone who used to circulate in the small overused ground all their lives, change might scare and overwhelm you. It may even look wrong, not because it is, but simply because you are not just used to the feeling it serves. All your life, you thought your comfort zone is your safe zone, but I tell you, it is NOT. Too much comfort is dangerous. It will make you stagnant. You won’t grow doing the same old things all your life. Explore. It may be a little scary but it will be worth it. Do it for your own growth. Do not go back to your cages and hide yourself again. Be free.
Some parts of the world might be a little dangerous to go to—cruelty is scattered. But, Honey, I want you to know that there are people out there who will make you feel safe, who will make you feel at home. Where you don’t have to wear that mask. Where you don’t have to be anxious about how they think of you, in which you don’t have to project. With them, you can be your authentic self. With the sense of serenity and freedom that their presence gave you. You just have to find those people.
The world might be a little scary: its waves might drown you at times, its ground may seem like it’s sucking you alive. But I want you to remember that the world is beautiful too: Its sunsets at 6 p.m., its landscapes, the sound of the leaves clashing with each other as the wind blows in the trees in the lazy afternoon, the cold breeze every 4 in the morning, hearing the sound of birds’ chirping as the ray of sunshine kisses your face in your bed, and the laughter of the people you treasures dearly.
You see?
The world might be a little scary, but it has a beauty that is worthwhile.
