Getting through your emotions is the best and only way to overcome them. Some people have a habit of suppressing their emotions, consciously avoiding particular feelings to avoid feeling unhappy or anxious about them. We might think we can eliminate our emotions, but they don’t simply disappear—they’re still there, lurking inside of us, waiting for the right moment to erupt. If we ignore our emotions rather than deal with them, we will never be able to overcome them.
